DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Call: School Garden Preparation Day Date: Saturday\, March 14  Location: Corona del Sol High SchoolMeeting Point: Entrance at Rural Rd. and Alexander St. (south side of the school)     Help Us Prepare a New School Garden Volunteers are invited to help prepare an area of campus for a new raised-bed school garden and food composting project at Corona del Sol High School.  This project will support hands-on sustainability education\, helping students learn about growing food\, soil health\, and composting while contributing to a greener campus.  What We’ll Be Doing Volunteers will help prepare the garden area by:  • Clearing and loosening soil• Preparing ground for raised garden beds• Beginning preparation for a food composting area• General site preparation  Tools such as shovels and mattocks will be used for digging and soil work.  Volunteer Shifts To make it easy for people to participate\, we are offering 1-hour shifts:  • 8:00 – 9:00 AM• 9:00 – 10:00 AM  You are welcome to sign up for one shift or both if you would like to stay longer.  What to Bring • Work gloves (We we provide also)• Closed-toe shoes• Water bottle• Hat and sunscreen recommended  Who Can Participate Community members\, parents\, students\, and anyone interested in school gardens\, sustainability\, and local food systems are welcome.  Your help will make a real difference in creating a space where students can learn about growing food\, composting\, and environmental stewardship.
