Help Us Prepare a New School Garden
Volunteers are invited to help prepare an area of campus for a new raised-bed school garden and food composting project at Corona del Sol High School.
This project will support hands-on sustainability education, helping students learn about growing food, soil health, and composting while contributing to a greener campus.
What We’ll Be Doing
Volunteers will help prepare the garden area by:
• Clearing and loosening soil
• Preparing ground for raised garden beds
• Beginning preparation for a food composting area
• General site preparation
Tools such as shovels and mattocks will be used for digging and soil work.
Volunteer Shifts
To make it easy for people to participate, we are offering 1-hour shifts:
• 8:00 – 9:00 AM
• 9:00 – 10:00 AM
You are welcome to sign up for one shift or both if you would like to stay longer.
What to Bring
• Work gloves (We we provide also)
• Closed-toe shoes
• Water bottle
• Hat and sunscreen recommended
Who Can Participate
Community members, parents, students, and anyone interested in school gardens, sustainability, and local food systems are welcome.
