May 2026 Build Garden Beds – Corona Del Sol High School

May 23 @ 7:30 am - 10:30 am
🌱 Welcome, Garden Heroes! 🌱

Thank you for joining us to build raised garden beds at Corona Del Sol High School! Your help will create beautiful, productive growing spaces that will benefit students, teachers, and the whole school community for years to come. This is going to be a fun, fast-paced, and rewarding morning of teamwork and building.

We’ve organized the build into a smooth 3-hour staffing schedule so we can keep the momentum going from start to finish. Each shift has clear roles and targets to make the work efficient and enjoyable. Here’s how the morning will flow:

Shift 1: The Vanguard (7:30 AM – 8:30 AM)
Target: 10-15 Volunteers
You’re the startup crew that gets everything rolling!

  • Saw Station (2 people): One cutting, one measuring/staging. Goal: cut all twelve 12-foot boards into 3-foot sections within the first 30 minutes.
  • Site Prep (4 people): Driving perimeter stakes, pulling string lines, and laying the first wave of cardboard.
  • Assembly (4 people): Two teams of two — start screwing frames together as soon as the first boards are cut.

Shift 2: The Core Build (8:30 AM – 9:30 AM)

Target: 10-15 Volunteers
This is where the magic happens and the garden really takes shape!

  • Assembly (6 people): Three teams of two running impact drivers.
  • Placement & Alignment (4 people): Hauling finished frames into place, aligning them to the string lines, and measuring the 3-foot wheelbarrow paths.

Shift 3: The Anchor Crew (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM)

Target: 10-15 Volunteers
You’ll finish strong and leave the site looking great.

  • Assembly (4 people): Complete the final 6–8 beds.
  • Placement & Alignment (4 people): Place the last beds and ensure the whole grid is square and perfect.
  • Cleanup (1–2 people): Collect tools, pick up lumber scraps, and consolidate trash.

No experience necessary — we’ll have tools, instructions, and experienced leads on site to guide everyone. Whether you love using power tools, prefer organizing and aligning, or are happy to help with cleanup, there’s a perfect spot for you.

We can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together! Please sign up below with the shift and role you’d like. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, bring work gloves if you have them, and get ready for a great morning outdoors making a real difference.

Thank you again — let’s build something beautiful!
