Join the Kiwanis Club of Tempe and Keep Tempe Beautiful at Tempe Beach Park to celebrate Independence Day and enjoy an evening of family-friendly fun, including live entertainment, food, kid’s activities, and fireworks!
We’re excited to announce that there’s lots of volunteer opportunities available for this event so please come and join.
All proceeds from the event will be given back to our community in the form of grants by the Kiwanis Club of Tempe.
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
3:00pm-10:00pm (2) 3.5hr shifts
VOLUNTEER LEADS – 2:30pm for briefing
Shift 1: 3:00pm main shift
Shift 2: 6:00pm second shift
Staff Dinner between 5:00-8:00 so that both shifts can have dinner
Family Fun Zone:
Your job assignment is located within the family fun zone. The objective here is pretty simple, help kids and adults have fun and win prizes! Your game tent will have easy to understand instructions as well as a hole punch to punch game tickets and prizes for those who win the game.
We will need 15 people per shift plus a lead (30 volunteers overall)

Command Post Dispatch:
You are at the central point of communication for the event representing the event organizers and Kiwanis.
2 people who are located in Unified Command for the duration of 4:00pm-10:00pm
Ticket Scanners:
Your job is to help keep the flow of event attendees quick and orderly. You will have a Lead who with train you on how to operate the ticket scanner and she will be there throughout the event to help answer any questions or help troubleshoot.

Front Gate / Will Call / Information:
Your job is to help guests coming up to the venue that still need to buy their tickets. You will direct them to the online site or if they prefer, they can walk up to the will call booth to purchase.

VIP Table:
Your job will be to check in attendees who purchased a VIP ticket, as well as a few Gold VIP. When folks with a VIP ticket come check in at the table you will be supplying them with the credentials which includes the place to punch for food and drinks and desserts as well as a commemorative light up necklace.

Ushers/Information Guides
Your job will be to roam the event and help answer any questions and direct people to areas they may be looking for.

Water and Popcorn Tent:
The water and popcorn tent is a another fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of Tempe. You will receive instructions for how to operate the popcorn machine and the POS tablet.
